I do think there are some homophobic attitudes in this show, just, you know, average male-dominated crew level of homophobia.

But the point with most of the LGBT rights-concerned Tumblr fans is that they actually eat with a spoon the problematic parts of the show if they benefit their ship. Like those typical lolgay moments, or the stereotyping of homosexuality/bisexuality, it's all good because they think those are hints at D/C (and yeah, it's always or practicaly always D/Cers doing this, I don't see Wincesters or Sassy fans or, dunno, Dean/Crowley fans with this attitude). So, while I'm sure a few of them are actually trying to help the LGBT cause, I have no doubt the vast majority are just slash fans that want their ship to be canon because it makes their hearts (and other body parts) ~flutter.

Sam has a reunion with a girl he once met, Meg, but it turns out that she is using the brothers to lure their father John to his doom.

Sam and Dean investigate the case of a maniacal ghost inhabiting a long abandoned Texas farmhouse known as "Hell House." They believe the ghost is the spirit of a deceased Depression-era farmer who killed his family, but they soon realize it is something far more powerful.

Shadow still gives me feels while watching the "I want us to be a family" speech; I feel so bad for Dean when he finds out that Sam wants to leave after they kill the demon. His feelings of abandonment just went into the red.

Next is when John shows up; he speaks to his boys with such love. I love when he says "of course I want to protect you... I'm your father". Their hugs are sublime.

Really? I mean, Dean's issues are understandable and I sympathize with his pain, but the fact that he couldn't imagine being a family on any model except the one that John had set and that he seemed to brush off Sam's assurance that they were a family even if Sam wanted a different life puts me solidly on Sam's side there. Dean's idea that he and Sam and John would just go on as a unit forever was pretty regressive, and not something that would be healthy for any of them.

Is there some minor point on which your headcanon or fanwork has been notably ruled out or confirmed by canon?

I am among the many who lost Dean Is a Cat Person with Man's Best Friend with Benefits. OTOH, much though I didn't like Torn and Frayed, it did gratifyingly Kripke Sam watching nature documentaries for me.

I didn't see Man's Best Friend with Benefits, but did it really ruin Dean is a Cat Person??? DDDDDD:

It was already suffering due to his allergies in Hunter Heroici (but I could work around that!!)

I hadn't remembered that Dean had allergies in Hunteri Heroici. Man's Best Friend confirmed his allergies. And he certainly didn't seem like he loved cats but was regretfully allergic, or I'd give him a Russian Blue.

I realized I was probably remembering this wrong, and I guess I must have taken the information people reported back from MBFWB and it somehow merged in my mind with the episode where Castiel interrogates the cat.

I just googled it to see what the specific lines were and wound up on a sneeze fetish board that had a whole thread dedicated to Dean and his allergies :)

I submitted right at the deadline and it's already been posted. I don't think there is any specific order, honestly

I sent mine in a day or so before the deadline, and mine got posted the first day. This leads me to believe that there's no particular order to it, since I know that probably half of them were submitted after mine.

(I do think they're probably trying to spread the pairings out a little, as well as the art.)

OKAY IT'S AND OLD POST/FROM TUMBLR. But this quote just makes me want to talk about something I've been pondering for awhile now.

It goes to the lengths that he’ll just mindlessly sacrifice himself for the people he loves because he is disposable and if it takes his death for them to live then so be it. Like, this is a terrible thing to be. To do. If you devalue yourself so much, it becomes easy to dismiss the fact that your actions have impact. I, in no way, want to deminish the trauma Dean has suffered as a child and beyond. I'm not even going to say that Dean should just suddenly get perspective because that notion is stupid. Safety is a key element of recovery and he doesn't have that

I have never gotten this obssesed with a character. I usually always want him/her to be the woobie and centre of attention, I have never cared about characterization and narrative bla bla. I am the worst kind of fan, huh?

With spn it's so much less heartbreaking to be this type of fan in my experience. For the first five seasons I tried to hold on, but now I find it a lot less frustrating and unsatisfactory to sit back and stare at Dean's face. and so forth.

They should really split the show into two half hour shows on different days, one for those who want to keep on heroically believing in plot and characterization, another that was just 22 minutes or so of Dean's shirt riding up and Sam's hair being shiny.

Maybe with some explosions for that nonnie who loves explosions, and because then we could have Cas looking all pretty by the disastrous light.
