Disclaimer: I own nothing. Paramount owns it all.
Pairing: Spock/Uhura
Rating: NC17
A/N: This was in response to an ejectingthecore prompt for Boot!Smut. Not strongly explicit. Can be ST2009 but is TOS in my mind.

Hardcore awesomeness!

So were you in the military, do you know someone who is, did you have a pair of boots you had to take care of or did you just do a crap-load of research for all the terms and such you used? Cuz it's AMAZING!

Thanks! I have a police friend who goes to extremes with his parade boots, and said he finds info on US military sites, so I looked it up on google. They said it takes 60 minutes to do boots properly - phew!

Gah. That is the most sexy bootsmut I've ever read that didn't feature more than one character...although Spock is lurking between the lines, of course.

Aww, thanks, we kinda crossed in the post! I had Spock come in at the end for the shining, but in the end cut him out, it seemed more fitting to leave the last word to the boots.

Thank-you very much, I think that caring for someone else's stuff well is a form of loving, I pictured Uhura disrobed here.

Thanks! I am a total sucker for a man in boots, so much sexier than shoes.

That was very moving. For a moment I thought you were setting up the ritual for the fallen soldier. The boots, helmet and weapon, it's one of the most heartwrenching sights I have ever seen. You wrote that as a tribute of love and devotion.

Oh heck! I didn't mean to scare you there, no it was definitely a devotional act, thank you.
