I'm still away on business, and tying up a rapdily ending lunch-time before I have to get back to work, but I wanted to post to let everyone know that I'm still here and kicking! I'm off next week, so I'm hoping to make great progress on my dress. I miss sewing soooo much!!

Back Again!!
Once again, work sent me across the country, but here I am, just like a bad penny! ^.^
After scouring TSA literature for a while, I chanced taking both needlepoint and crochet on the plane, despite not finding acrylic hooks small enough for what I needed (the smalles I found was around 3mm). No problems, so that was a relief.

Good morning!
It was such a nice weekend - having a day to spend with George is such a rarity. We only have about 6 days off a year together, so it's really nice when that comes along.
I spent most of the weekend doing a billion little things, but I did finish the waist on the underskirt (cue heavenly voices) and work more on drafting my beading ( Read more... ) -

Went to see "Invasion" - Meh. NIcole Kidman still looks like a bobble-head Barbie doll. I liked the infected people and how they were addressed in the film though.
I'll have a progress pic of the dress underskirt in a day or so. I finally got all the gathers as I want them and the waistband is pinned in place. I would have sewn it today, but it was ( Read more... ) -
Depleting the Pleats
I've been staring at my dress for 2 weeks now, pinning pleats and taking them out because it didn't look right. Again, again, and again. The problem is due to where the side-seams fall, it ends up looking odd or the seam doesn't fall inside the pleat so it's hidden. The pattern called for gathering the skirt at the waist, but I thought it would be ( Read more... )
