My friend Trevors thoughts on Gay marriage and my response..

It is hard for me to stomach the fact the America is slowly becoming a theocracy. When it comes to love, should a government tell you who you can marry? No. However, the President has favored passing a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage. Marriage is an institution set forward in Christian doctrines! Therefore, by placing anything ( Read more... )

Well i dont totally have an opinion on gay marriage, however I have the feeling if we say yes gay marrige is legal we'll next have someone wanting to marry their damned dog or dishwasher..... a Union i doubt many ppl would have a problem with but anyways.... As for the whole religion thing it's gotten completly out of hand. Yeah, this country was founded on Regligious freedom ect, but take a look at the founding fathers.... They were prolly all white chirsitian men. And at that time they said one thing and we interpret it totally different now days.... If you look back in Britt's journal about when she was talking about our Disposable Society i did mention that wether you believe in god or not there has been a huge fall since god was taken out of schools. Personally i dont give a damn, give everyone equal time in school for their religion. If you have a Study hall and are Jew, Muslim, Christian, Wiccan ect ect ect..... Let's have a place for ya to go and pray or talk with others if you want ( ... )

well, we had the same discussion here last year, and I didn`t really care, because I have no homosexuals in my environment (I wouldn`t mind, but I just don`t know one).
I wonder that politicians have no other/bigger problems than gay marriage 0ô. I mean, who the fuck cares about a gay wedding when hundreds and thousands of people are killed cause of bush`s failure? I guess that`s why I don`t like politics...
but I know what you mean. it`s always hard if you belong to a side the majority does not (want to) understand.

My random thoughts...... bridge_o_sighs April 19 2004, 14:19:17 UTC
Live and let die. Let people decide for themselves what kind of relationship is going to be the one for them. Leave it out of the hands of the goverment. Period.

History alone shows us that religion and goverment do not mix well.

Also I am for religion being taken out of schools IF the schools favor one religion over the rest. However, if they can find a way to let all worship in a manner that they see fit, fine. Bear in mind that kids do not go to school for religious instruction. They go to school to get an education. Most parents I talk to don't even want strangers speaking with their children about religion.
