Very still, very cold. No longjohns, and no meteors. And though I figured I'd be up anyhow, Maeve is actually sleeping...so I could have been getting some shuteye. Meh. -
Touching nerves at the NYT
Today, the New York Times congratulated itself on its new skyscraper in midtown Manhattan.
My comments were moderated out of the comment thread. The NYT says that comments "generally will be posted if they are on-topic and not abusive." I don't think I was off-topic, so I must assume I was "abusive."

Birdwatcher bloodlust
In other news, I don't believe for a moment that this guy was primarily interested in saving endangered birds. There were other ways to eliminate the presence of the cat.
