Oh that Sam, she is more awesome every time. The 'First!' part was my favourite, followed closely by the discussion of the ever disgusting easter candy. I'd say more but some of us have to go to work and are being made less early than usual by people posting stories.
Wait, Dean and Ava- Really? I hoped they'd make it, and honestly, am not surprised they didn't. I like that the kids go to Dean first, and the way you wrote them, I can totally see it. And the fact that Samantha seems to live with him. Although I guess there was a hint of it in the death of rabbit Mike fic... Anyway, love this latest installment. Are you going to write something in the Dean angst category, the divorce? Man, I can see Sam being his rock! Indus
Oh there'll be plenty involving their break up in Lineage...once I get there. And, not to be too foreshadow-y, but there are reasons for the kids being closer to Dean than Ava.
Thank you...I did try really hard to capture the unique feel of a family in crisis, in mourning. And I know what you mean, about Dean never being on the receiving end, always coming second to Sam, or at least that's how it seems. I hate that. And I'm not gonna say that it doesn't play into the story here AT ALL, but I promise, in this situation Dean will hold many of the cards. He's been abandoned too much in his life, and, in part because of that fact, he's gonna take control this time.
This is one of my favorite SPN 'verses - you've created such a wonderfully realistic look at a possible future for our boys. I love the way you manage to weave the happiness with the angst. Just like real life, eh?
Finding out that Dean and Ava divorced, though, really hit hard. (Dang, I shouldn't get so involved over fictional characters!!) But after Maya's death, it seems quite plausible that Dean/Ava's volatile relationship could spin out of control. They still love each other, though, you can tell..*sniff, sniff*
Thanks for another great chapter! Always love reading about the growing Winchester clan...
I'm so glad you like this little peek into the future. And I know, seeing Dean and Ava so happy in the past makes it difficult to think of them not being together...but stuff's about to go down (in Lineage, that is, obviously here it's already happened) that will strain, to say the least, their relationship.
