[Altair is pacing back and forth while he's speaking; it's not visible, but the sound of footsteps is faintly there. When things like that happen again, I think we need to have a plan. We held up pretty well in the Balkan Church, but I think it'd be for the best if we got some sort of... emergency measures in case things like that happen again. I ( Read more... )

[Altair looks at the camera quite seriously (he's gotten the hang of this rather rapidly).]

As much as I like the idea of you learning to fend for yourself, there is a rather large difference between learning to fend for yourself among other nations, and fending for yourself among ghosts and demons who, instead of teasing you or maybe shoving you around, will try to either possess you or kill you.

I can teach you how to defend yourself, if you'd like... or try, but.

I worry, Lie.

... Lie, you don't need to do things in exchange for me helping you. It's fine, really, you don't need to worry about it.

[Not that he'll stop her. Part of him is really pleased at this - not at the not needing to cook and clean bit, but just that she's SUCH A SWEETIE OMG.]

Well, one, you're clearly sick and so can't take care of everything. [Altair keeps his voice carefully neutral, so as not to delight in the misfortunes of that snot-nosed shithead.]

Two, what happens if you disappear and go back home? We still need plans. Plans that aren't contingent on one person.

I think you have a good point here Mr Grey, perhaps something simple like, if ever we end up somewhere we do not know, everyone is to meet at the highest point around, or something like this?

Something simple. The highest point might not always be the best idea, especially for those who can't climb, but something simple that works in most situations.

Assume that the communicators won't work in such a circumstance, too. Hmmm... [He's going to have to consider this for a bit. He'll also ignore being called Mr. Grey, since that's not actually his name, but it's certainly better than 'cowboy'.]

Si si, maybe if communicators work, we choose a designated point, and if they don't... Well, something else.

The most important thing is to find someone else. Anyone else. Going alone gets you killed.

I know these things. I'm an adventurer.

Setting some rotas on running to the grocery store and looking for ways out might be a good idea. Set some groups together, and such.

That'd probably be ideal, if we can find volunteers. I know I'm more than willing to do that, and I imagine you would be to. Getting things on a regular schedule would be best, assuming they're people we can trust.
