If anyone has been wondering I finally got my word from above as to what I've been doing now and I did a disiplinary hearing thing that was meant to be locked doors but the Good Lord only knows who knew everything that went on in it and the long and short and big and tall is that I still have my job ( Read more... )

You still have your job, and you are long and short and big and tall all at the same time, and you wish to serve tea in York?

The English language can be very confusing to me still sometimes.

I still have my job sort of and the facts are long and short and big and tall and I just don't want to travel so far in the mornings if I'm only going to serve tea that is don't worry your English is very very good better than my French definitely.

I shall make a note of this expression, then.

You are very kind to say this. My husband has been a great help in improving my English.

It's really two expressions long and short is one and big and tall is another I've just got a bit of a habit of combining things when thoughts go in my head and I'm sure he has been and that's likely also why I'm not as good in French as you are in English.

I do a lot of tea-fetching as well! Actually, I'm never asked to fetch tea, I just do it because I feel like it.

I was sort of wondering, though, so if you were wondering if anyone was wondering about you then you now know that I was!

It's not that bad when you get used to it and you get used to what people want and it's always good to know that someone wonders about you so thank you very much Eloise.

It seems a shame that all your years of training are going towards tea and filing, though! Ah well, all of mine are going to books. I probably shouldn't tell a Ravenclaw this, but I think there are an awful lot of boring-looking books in the world.

I may be a horrible Ravenclaw myself but I think I agree totally with some books being horribly boring you don't have to like all books equally as a Ravenclaw I hope any more than you need to like all people to be a Hufflepuff.

Even more paperwork than usual? That's utter rubbish. Not everyone does 100 percent all the time, and in this case I don't think it was your performance that had anything to do with it.

It's only really filing for most other people right and it's really no different than my early training I don't think really.

I hated early training.

Maybe they won't keep you doing that for long?

Everyone did right I think everyone did at least and maybe not maybe I'll soon enough be doing something better or at least something in York if I'm not.

I can't help being a bit surprised that your department is treating you as shabbily as they are, unless it's a sort of routine penance that you're meant to go through for form's sake. Surely your past work speaks volumes.

I think it's more meant to be a better safe than sorry type thing you know just to make sure that everyone knows it's being taken care of or some thing or the sort or to make certain I'm clear on everything or something.

Sackcloth and ashes never go out of fashion in the workplace, do they. I just hope it's a very short season for you.

Would you want to stay in York even after this all blows over?

I'm Catholic sackcloth and ashes never go out of style full-stop and York is home you know it's where I'm from.
