I haven't seen either of those, but I do want to see Little Miss Sunshine!

That is so cool you're in a relationship! Oh boy!

I have not really been catching up with the news--just the Daily Show and occasionally the front page (when anybody throws it away, I'm always there to steal it!). Apparently Chicago is forcing "big box" stores like Wal-Mart and Target to pay all their employees at least $9 an hour, and the stores agreed to do so! Also, I guess some airport in the Middle-East was bombed and some dude in England tried to blow up a plane with a liquid bomb. Lieberman didn't win the primaries for Senator of Connecticut. But don't worry--he hasn't given up!

Snakes on a Plane and An Inconvenient Truth are both really up-front movies. You know exactly what you're going to get going in to the film, and how much you like the movie depends on how sold you are on the basic premise. Do you buy that snakes on a plane getting tazed by Samuel L. Jackson is awesome? Snakes On A Plane is your movie. Do you think that global warming is real and a serious problem? An Inconvenient Truth is there for you.

If you don't buy global warming as a concept or can't stand Al Gore, the AIT will drive you nuts. If you're even slightly on board, though, it's terrifying, eye-opening, tragic, and, ultimately, hopeful. The end credits -- which merge in and out of small things you can do to check global warming -- are the best example of this. The whole point of the movie is that, yes, things are getting terrible, and they could get much, much worse pretty shortly, but we could pretty easily turn things around, without really doing anything too onerous at all.

I haven't seen either movie. I don't want to see Snakes on a Plane. I think naming a movie that is kinda funny, but I have no desire to actually see the movie.
I haven't seen An Inconvenient Truth either. It was showing a long time at the Carolina, which usually rotates out their movies very often.
The only movies I really wanted to see this summer were Pirates of the Caribbean (check) and Clerks 2 (haven't seen it yet. probably won't get to. I <3 Kevin Smith though.)

i loved pirates. that was the only movie so this summer i didn't mind paying the ticket price for. heeeyyy johnny depp. people have said i should be excited about clerks 2, but the first one wasn't really my style, so i doubt i'll be very into the second.

I really like Clerks. I like Kevin Smith, and I like that it takes place in NJ.
