Has anyone reading this blog read House of Leaves? There seems to be a large group of people who would highly recommend it and yet a not insignificant number of people who think it's rough to read and not worth the effort

I had to read down the comments on the XKCD LJ feed until I found someone explaining what on earth it was referring to. Apparently, I missed the phenomenon that was House of Leaves completely, too. This does not speak well for it, but I like a good mind-bending story. :) At least, it intrigues me enough to ask around about it, but not enough to just buy right into it. Maybe it makes a better doorstop than a conversation piece.
