Two years after Yunho’s mother’s funeral. He was there again, with jaejoong and a bunch of cherry blossom trees. It was their collective favourite tree. He was having 2 smaller ones planted either side of the grave with a larger one behind it. The grave would always be sprinkled throughout the year with pretty pink petals.
Yunho, had also been given the entire fortune and estate by his father, who decided to take an early retirement and took to living a relaxing quiet life outside of Seoul, somewhere quiet and by the sea. Since then, Yunho had set about building a state of the art medical centre; it would specialise in research for major illnesses and would also be a world class medical facility. The centre’s grounds were large and well landscaped, cherry blossoms peppered the grounds. It was called the Miya Jung Medical Institute.
Cherry blossom petals lay everywhere, they created a blanket of pink-red delicateness, leading up to the newly built house.
The wind blew lightly across the land, causing a swirling of the petals; they flew off up into the sky and danced on the warm summer breeze for a time before moving away again.
Yoochun, Junsu, Changmin and se7en were walking up the grand elegant path to their friend’s house, JaeJoong and Yunho lived there, happy as ever and more confident about the love they shared for each other, their friends and family.
The boys knocked on the door and soon they heard the strong steps of Yunho, he open the door with a wide grin and arms flung side open to greet them all.
“Yunho hyung!!!!!” squealed Junsu as he practically jumped onto Yunho and hugged him tightly until Yoochun managed to prize him off the bewildered young man.
“Susu calm down babe let him breathe”
“Oh, okay keke sorry Yunho”
“Ahh its okay heh” said Yunho softly as he hugged the other eagerly waiting boys; he showed them all in, hanged up their things, then popped the champagne and poured everyone a glass of the sweet sparkling gold.
“Yunho hyung, where’s JaeJoong?” Changmin asked looking around the dining room where they had all been seated waiting for dinner.
“Ahh, worry not, he’s busy in the kitchen, he’s cooking, today, he insisted, even though I said it would be easier just to get take away… but you all know what he's like.” The group collectively nodded thinking of how their JaeJoongie was.
“arrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh noooooo fuckfuckfuckfuckfcuuuckkyoushittingcuntingbastard!” jaejoong could be heard shouting about suddenly in the kitchen.
Yoochun got up and went to investigate.
“Jae? Jaeee what’s up, what happened? U ok?” he ventured, seemingly to the air.
“Oh, yoochunah! Thank you I’m fine, but, but the cake… its ruined! Look at it! It’s ugly! Nooo it’s all gone wrong!... Actually… NO! don’t look at it! It’s ugly!”Jaejoong replied with a large sway of varying emotions.
“ahhhh Jae its magnificent babe! I’m sad I couldn’t take that ‘baking cakes to inspire’ class with you! Damn my work schedules! Its fine! Now! Come and have a drink with us!” Yoochun said all this while his eyes were fixated to the sweet spongy iced delight which stood…yes stood before his eyes.
The cake was indeed magnificent. It was a cake to represent, their group love, their ups and their downs, for conquering the bad and being thankful through the good times. The cake was a white iced cake, with a layer of marzipan and was 3 tiers high! It was decorated in various shapes, colours, icing flowers and the like. It was truly a work of art. It was to be the very first cake to celebrate their house, their first house party and the beginning of the rest of their lives.
“No no, Chunnie, you go back in and enjoy, it’s nearly done anyways” jaejoong replied as he went about finishing the salad in a large blue and white china bowl.
Yoochun wouldn’t take no for an answer, so he set to work washing up, then when that was done, he went about setting the table, while everyone else sat in the dining room, sharing stories of dong-wook’s family, Junsu’s family and Junsu’s seemingly endless supply of gossip. Junsu stuck to only 4 glasses of champagne; as per his drinking counsellor’s wishes.
Soon the table was covered in a feast of epic proportions, you wouldn’t be able to tell it, but those boys could eat for South Korea! Roast beef, baked chicken, minced lamb and pork strips with a mix of various vegetables and a large bowl of fruit all made up this feast… that, and lots of champers.
As jaejoong wheeled out the cake, Junsu and Changmin were poised to capture the moment, on either side of Jae as he came into the room. The room was silent, candles were glowing softly and the lighting was warm and cosy. The room itself seemed to even gasp as the cake entered; it was as if the world’s best supermodel had entered the room, draped in the finest of finery.
They ate, drank, chatted, and reminisced of days gone by and the future. A lot had changed since they had all met; they were all busy with work and play.
Yunho was busy overseeing his family’s empire. Jaejoong was working on his cooking skills by seemingly attending almost every cookery class possible.
Junsu had opened and was running a successful rehabilitation clinic with the support of Yoochun, who was busy writing and releasing music for dramas and films.
Finally Changmin had just finished his first novel and was pleased to be meeting with 3 different publishers in the next month. Dong-wook was working on recording his new album which was to be released later on in the autumn.
Everything was on the up. No one had heard from nor seen Lee Jun-Ki, Keita, Siwon and Heechul.
A few weeks later, Jae had heard form one of his old contacts that Jun-ki was getting worse and worse and was falling deeper into drug, drink, fast boys and getting even nastier to the boys he forced to work for him; even raping some of them whenever he felt like it.
Jaejoong had to put a stop to this. He told Yunho about it. “Yunnie! Please I’m begging you, help him, instil him in a special care unit at the facility and I will take care of the boys there I’ll look after them, teach them how to use their skills to live a better lives!” jaejoong tried to persuade Yunho and eventually Yunho agreed.
They got some heavies to help them out; they went to the old building where Jaejoong’s life had taken a turn for the worst so long ago, he looked at the building as the memories flooded back to him. It all felt like a dream. He no longer let it affect him; he just wanted to help the boys in there.
The heavies dragged a kicking and screaming Jun-Ki form the building. He was delirious and looked a shadow of himself. He gave Yunho a long hard look, which was replied with a stare that could have frozen hell, form Yunho.
He had a look of quiet sadness in his eyes as he looked at jaejoong. “Jun-Ki, we are going to help you, help you get back some part of your humanity, that humanity you once had.” Jae said to him as the burly men, tied him up in a straight jacket in the back of the facilities’ mini ambulance. The doors slammed shut.
The boys were rounded up, checked out by health professionals at the medical facility and jaejoong saw to it that they moved into a nice house near Seoul’s Hangang (river). There he visited them frequently to teach them how to live life after being a rent boy, he taught them how to cook, clean and also had other professional help come in from time to time, to help the boys find work or to teach them things. Jaejoong also used some of the boys as bait in order to catch other pimps and help put them in prison and save other boys out there.
It was long and hard but Jae felt like he was finally doing something worthwhile.
