Trying to use Regular Expressions with Java is quite frankly ridiculously impossible. There are just some things which don't lend themselves well to object-orientedness, and RegEx's are certainly at the front of the queue.

Since I spent most of Saturday working on my first project prototype, I've had a fair amount of time to get to grips with Regular Expressions, and I'm really starting to like them. So it turns out that the copy of Half Life 2 I downloaded was the leaked Beta version. Gutted. It runs fairly well, and it's got me thinking - should I spend some hard-loaned money on buying the full version? At the moment there's a feeling of inexorable doom clouding over me, much like the Sword of Damocles. This unfortunate feeling is due in whole to the fact that:

o My essay on Compilers is due in tomorrow and there's only a feeble 200 words documented so far
and
o Half Life 2 is sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be played
