What makes a vacation

I want to have a little vacation-in-my-home, where I set aside a Saturday or a weekend and treat it in a Vacationy kind of way. The goal is to get vacation-like restorative benefits without the travel time, hassle, or expense

I was going to chide you for leaving "a nice fire in the fireplace" out of your list, but then I remembered where you are.

Ha! Yeah, not so much.

But our house does have a fireplace that we've never used, and lots of my friends' houses do, too. Each of our apartments had a fireplace. I want to call Texas up and be like, "Hey. Texas. You do know it's hot here, right?"

Everywhere a fireplace and nowhere a coat closet. Some days it's hard to get by...
