Planned Parenthood

A friend had unprotected sex with withdrawal. She missed her appointment at Olin for the emergency contraception pill, and instead went to planned parenthood on Grand River ave in east lansing. Inside, she was given several pamphlets provided by the american life league, which she erroneously assumed (and I take it they do their best to create this ( Read more... )

it definetely sucks...but ugh, i mean, i don't wanna sound insensitive but like, if the girl was that easily dissuaded from taking the pill, she must have already been thinking about it or not been really sure. so maybe she wants the baby. i mean, pamphlets are only words and only information. information can't ever be bad. ok that sounded really obvious when i read that over. but you get what i'm saying ( ... )

It is her body and her life and her decision. Hopefully she's bright enough to want to learn about it, to figure out who is telling her what, what their agendas are, etc. Everyone is biased.

This is a lot like saying "a friend of mine is really excited about Nigerian banking, what should I do?"

well she clearly doesn't want to have a baby, and probably would like to avoid conceiving one. I never really asked what I should do, I just figured there were people that were a bit more knowledgeable about these things that would know of an alternative.

If she knows she doesn't want to have a baby, give birth, or conceive then she needs to first determine if she is pregnant now. She can take an at home test or she can schedule an appointment with her doctor (OBGYN or GP/Internist). If she is not pregnant then she needs to stay not pregant by either not having intercourse or by practicing contraception (preferably a chemical method plus condoms). If she is not pregnant then she needs an abortion of some form or another. If she's in the right window (72 hours after intercourse) then the so called morning after pill should do it. If her pregancy has progressed beyond that then she needs to go to her OBGYN or friendly Planned Parenthood clinic and say "I want an abortion."
