John Denver is full of win. I'm actually nearly anti-country, but he sort of doesn't count. (It could be, you know, because he wrote a song about West Virginia and stuff...WHICH IS SO FUN TO SING IN THE CAR.)=P

John Denver strikes me as a man who is, simply put, a fantastic songwriter. Doesn't matter what "style" of music he gets filed under and whether or not I like that style - he just writes cracking songs.

I cannot bear Barry Manilow or Neil Diamond, but they both write superb songs.

(there is something incredible about John Denver… my kids asked what does it mean to be “high” and I said “happy” but I thought hmmm… John Denver was probably high as in stoned… but I didn’t say that out loud).

You asked me if this went against my schema for you and I got all tangled up and confused, because I don't HAVE a schema for you. Was I supposed to have gotten one?

If I see one in your size I will tell you straight off.

I love these answers, because they help me to 'see' you better, in my minds' eye. I think as one reads blogs one cannot help but start to develop pictures of the original poster - pictures based not on reality of "dark hair, going grey; hazel eyes, bespectacled" that sort of thing, but more a sort of picture of you as a whole being.

So, for example, the description of the rich colours in your home gives me a stage for you to be playing on. And I can hear your radio playing. And I can see out of your windows. And your kids are singing. I'm there.

I love this.
