I dont mind people for having an opinion on morality and sticking to it, infact thats admirable. I have no problem with vegitarians or veagans, but i do have a problem with PETA. I fucking hate PETA they go too far and push me further from their cause instead of pulling me in with shit like this which apperently they were suppried that it was ( Read more... )

I am glad that's not going to be shown on TV because it's horrific and upsetting.

If my dad is watches the superbowl and as usual is expecting the usual blockbuster commercials for Pepsi, Budweiser, ... and sees that instead, I think the only effect it would have would be to upset him. And not in a "Wow, now I'm going to be an activist for this cause" kind of upset either. More like "Great, I just saw a cow on hooks being bled on my TV.".

When I watched it just now, because I was expecting it, I was able to consider it from a rational "Hey, they're right, that's awful" perspective. And I think it's good to have it available for people watching it in the right context. But seriously. Putting pictures of corpses on peoples' TVs during entertainment programming is misplacing their advertising.

PETA has had problems in the past with respecting women. I'm all about veganism and so on, but I'm not a PETA fan.

PETA is like the anti-abortionists that parade around huge billboards of fetuses (fetusi?) every excuse they get. As if that approach is going to change anyone's mind?

Aaron I TOTALLY agree with you. Not only are they raging extremists, but often that don't actually know SHIT about what they are talking about, and will even spread nasty lies about a situation to make people believe that it is mistreating an animal. Maybe my horse WOULD be happier if I turned her out in the wild... where she often won't have enough to eat, no one to care for an injury, preditors to eat her if she gets sick or hurt, no shelter from blizzards or whatnot... but I promise she can breath just fine with the cinch on that holds the saddle ( ... )

I think it's cute when the ony thing anyone can ever be bothered to be angry about is how this or that organization is doing everything wrong, like somehow if you complain enough about how you dont agree with thier methods the situation will dissapear. what sort of option does peta have? the only thing that actually causes anybody to talk about the dairy industry are images like these that cause peopele to scream "Innapropriate." thats why pro life protestors do it too. the main problem that every single advocacy group ever had is the apathy of intelligent people who spend all their time complaining about why things like this dont work. i have to have some respect for orginizations actually, like, do things.

I wasnt so mad about the video, just the wired and misconstrued facts about things that really dont sit well with me, I understand their point, and i agree with some of it, however they lose total credibility by twisting facts and basicly lieing in order to shame or scare poeple away from somthing they find moraly offensive and assume that everyone else must agree with them or they are evil... than and while i could give up meat, I really like dairy.

it is what it is. i dont think that the moral claim being made is very relevant, but from a health and environmental standpoint the dairy industry is one of the worst. i just wish people could get all riled up about something that actually mattered rather than the fact that somebodies advertisement is offensive. 98% of advertisements are stupid, pandering, infantile, and radically manipulative. the propaganda being spread by the people who make hummers is far more dangerous in my opinion because it so easy to not react to it.
