This is the first of my ficlets for the Timestamp Meme.
Title: Turn, Turn, Turn
Word Count: 175
Pairing: mini!Jack/mini!Sam
Rating: Teenish
Summary: The request was from
triciabyrne1978 for an SG-1 v. 2.0 ficlet, set the night of
Transitions and
I've Never, where Sam couldn't sleep.
I warn you, this is unbeta'd. I was just too excited about having written something to wait, and I know Tricia is anxious for more of the 'verse. :-)
Turn, Turn, Turn
Jack was sprawled across his bed enjoying the way the ceiling was spinning. He considered it one of the advantages of his newer, lighter body that he could no longer hold his liquor as well as he once could. When the stuff was hard to come by, it was nice that he could achieve the desired result with less.
In this case, the desired result was distraction. A little spin, spin, spin and he wasn't thinking about how strange this all was. A little whirl, whirl, whirl and he wasn't worrying about how he'd manage to protect them all from Baal. A little turn, turn, turn and he was humming The Byrds instead of thinking about the blonde in the next room. A little knock, creak, dip and she was the blonde on the edge of his bed.
"Carter?"
"Couldn't sleep," she said matter-of-factly.
Jack shut his eyes and took a deep breath. "C'mere."
She curled into his side, her head tucked against his shoulder, and now his head was spinning for a different reason.
This is the third and so far final of my ficlets for the Timestamp Meme.
Title: Dizzy
Word Count: 268
Pairing: mini!Jack/mini!Sam
Rating: Teenish
Summary: The request was from
daisycm83 for an SG-1 v. 2.0 ficlet, set three weeks after Turn, Turn, Turn, the ficlet above.
(Unbeta’ed)
Dizzy
Sam came home from work, kicked off her shoes, and joined Jack and the others in the living room. When she sat down next to him, Jack's arm automatically went around her shoulders. Sam sighed contentedly and leaned back against him, not even minding that they'd seen this episode of the Simpsons just the other day. "You make a great pillow," she said softly.
Before Jack could respond, Cam yelled for him from the kitchen. Jack grimaced. "That better not be smoke I smell." He moved to extract himself from their comfortable position, but Sam grabbed his hand and tugged him back for a quick kiss. He tried again, making it to his feet this time before she tugged him back. "Sam, he could be burning the house down."
She released his hand with a smirk. "Can't have that. You're too nice to come home to."
Jack gave her a playful shove. "Dizzy blonde," he said affectionately.
As soon as Jack was out of the room, Daniel hit the mute button. "Should we be checking you for some form of alien mind control device, Sam?"
"Indeed, Samantha. I fear you may be compromised," Teal'c added solemnly.
"What are you talking about?" Sam said with a frown.
"Dizzy blonde?" Daniel asked incredulously. "That's probably the thirtieth time I've heard him call you that, and you haven't done him any sort of bodily harm. What is wrong with you?"
Sam thought for a moment about correcting them - explaining that Jack didn't mean she was dizzy, just that she made him dizzy - but then she thought, why ruin Jack's fun?
