also for whatever this is worth, my old hp laptop that is over 5 years old has never had any problems whatsoever. i don't really use it anymore because the batteries don't hold a charge (which happens over time to all batteries) and it's slow as shit (again, because it's really old)

hm yeah.
i got the mac, but my laptop was more expensive than my mac was and it was absolute shit. my main issue was that i got a lot of viruses. i know this is partially my fault because i could have kept up to date with virus protection software/ran anti-spyware and malware program more often, but hey i didn't. even though my computer was super souped up, it was always slow. i know people with macs have a lot of harddrive crash issues but at least they can give it to apple and they'll fix it, instead of me giving my dell to the UMD OIT who then like yell at me and take a week to fix it. with the mac at least ill have it under warranty for like a year and then applecare for 3 more years, and the service will be efficient.

so you use a PC currently?

oh nooo traitor!! real talk dells are complete shit. it's probably worth it to get a mac.
