I think the adage should be "the way to a man's friends' hearts is through their stomachs." I have won over many a Chad-friend, especially of the bachelor variety, with a well-applied dessert.

And I agree with leahallis on the "real answer" front. Extreme geekiness/an appreciation of extreme geekiness, would definitely be the way to my esposo's heart.
