While I was preparing the base for some chocolate sorbet the other day, I accidentally let the pot boil over.  The chocolate syrup scorched on the ceramic cooktop (oh, I miss my lovely gas range!) and left crusty black marks on the surface.  I grabbed a big sponge and started working on cleaning off the char once the surface had cooled a bit.

We celebrated Ellie's official naming ceremony this weekend. Somehow, we seem to have survived the onslaught of Keith's relatives who descended to admire the baby. At what point do breastfeeding's benefits no longer outweigh the restrictions it places on a mother's treatment options?

I have been so lax on posting to LJ. In my defense, I am currently "borrowing" the neighbor's wireless connection, and it's just not very stable. My husband is turning 30 today! Yay for him! I wish I could share the cake I am making him with you all on-line as well, but the chocolate is stuck in my USB port.

Ack! I know the phrase "his or her" is awkward, but "their" is plural and should never be used to refer to a singular word like anyone. The same applies to everybody, anybody, each, neither, nobody, someone, a person, the girl, Joe, Bob, Fred, etc. Grrr ( Read more... )
