OK! I'll be blatantly self serving and suggest Funny Fics: parodies, satires, or just those that make you laugh out loud.

1. The anti-plagiarism clause sounds like a great addition. Kudos.

2. I don't mind either nominating/voting period -- for students, we're on Christmas break in December, so it works for us but probably not for all the adults getting ready for family holidays. Either way sounds good.

3. Themes... hmm... maybe jack one from the Quiz? :) Or perhaps do a married or broken up Severus & Hermione theme or Older!SSHG. It seems like the book-centric themes are pretty much exhausted unless we want to sink to OOTP, which is pretty much pedophilia land. Sorry, my tired out brain is not much help! :-)

Awesome! Thank for sharing your thoughts, hon!

As for #3 ... um ... yeah. We don't wanna go there! LOL ;)

We'd have a specific category for that theme. And our banners would probably contain an appropriate image. ;)

Thanks, Mia!

Personally, I'd be for nominations in October and reading time in November AND December because real life is just crazy. An extra month of reading time would be helpful for me!

It's hard to think of a theme that isn't already covered in the categories. I suppose there's Crossover, but that sure opens up a huge area that you might not want to get into... What about SSHG fics that feature a third character in a major role (i.e. Lucius, Remus, Dumbledore, etc.)? What you would call that though? I don't know...

Excellent thoughts! Thank you!

I'm not really sure what to have as a "theme". Really, it would just be for the banners and an additional category. LOL Will have to ponder more, I think.

By the way, for those participating in severusbigbang, the rough draft is due in October and the final copy in November.

After reading the comments, I like the idea of EWE or fairy tales as a theme.

Oh. I'd forgotten about those deadlines. Hmm. So perhaps it's best to just leave it at November/December. So much to consider!

Thank you!

How about an EWE theme?

I was thinking along those lines as well. It would be a natural progression.

*ponders more*

Thanks!

I was going to request EWE too. Some of the best fics I've read in the last year have been based around subverting the epilogue of doom.

Nominations in October and voting in November would suit me better.

I also just wanted to say that it's times like these really help me understand how much work goes into the awards: thanks for everything.

I really like the idea of a post-DH round. Fixing JKR's mess. LOL That would be fun. I hesitate to say EWE, because I know of several fics that "reinterpreted" the epilogue to still allow for SS/HG. So as long as Severus is alive ... ;)

Thanks so much! We try to be very transparent as to how things are run here. It is a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun.
