It's the final push for nominations

There is less than week left to nominate for round four. Now is the time to get them in.

I will tell you now, if you don't get them in, your favorites may be in danger of not being nominated. Our numbers are still low. Here are where our numbers are, compared to the last round:

* Less than 50% the number of participants sending in nominations ( Read more... )

I think you are right about that, which is why I did the handy nomination guide. It does require work on the part of the nominator. The entire nomination process is something that may have to change. It's something to be thinking about for after this round is over.

Well, people don't have to use those. They can copy and past and delete them out. ;)

One other thing:

I'm not sure having a time frame totally explains what we're seeing, tough it definitely plays a part. It was the same last round, exactly, and we saw 75% more participation. And there are just fewer stories, especially good ones. Take a look at the digest on any given day and compare it years past. There just aren't as many stories being written, unfortunately. Still we can fix this with a new nomination process, one that is easier for readers.

Hi, this is my first sshg awards (squee!) and I just had one question to make sure I'm thinking straight. Is there a limit to how many categories we can nominate one story in? Is it two? Or as many as we want? Thanks so much, this is fabulous and I will get my noms in hopefully tonight!

Yay! Welcome to the awards! :D

No, there is no limit to the number of categories you can nominate a story in. Nominate them for as many as you believe it deserves! The two category rule comes into play for the mods when we are figuring out the finalists. :)

If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I forgot about the Exchange! duh. All right, I've got a few more, going over to nominate.

Though... I'd like to second Mia's suggestion. The names are funy and adorable, but I am easily confused. Best Angst, Best PWP, etc is so much easier. But then, I guess we ought to save this discussion for after the awards.

Like I told Mia, I suggest just leaving them off when you organize your noms. You don't have to include them. Next time, I will certainly leave them off in the template that we provide (because I do understand how that would be helpful), but overall, we're keeping them ... because I likes 'em.

Question. I know you've said that we can nominate more than once (different stories obv.), but, well, I have an unreliable computer (dies without warning), and can't save stuff on it (it's a work computer). May I just post noms as I decide on them?

I know it's kind of obnoxious, but I don't see another way to do it until my other computer gets fixed.

You certainly can! There's no limit to nomination posts. :)
