Goodness, there is so much change and turbulence in the lives of those all around me! I'm sorry I haven't been emotionally available. I still don't feel like I am. I have never received any positive feedback from this guy, but today! This: "Thanks again, today's case was a tremendous improvement. The team functioned as if they had been doing this routinely - fast, efficient, and very professional."

We do not do this routinely, at least not yet. Today was our fifth case since February.

We have something of a data storage criticality on the horizon.  After explaining what IT is feverishly doing to avoid this, the director said, "Don't panic.  *grin*  Tell your friends!"

Also, back from backpacking.  Ugh, it is hard to sit at a desk all day after hiking 5+miles a day for the last 4 days.  More on backpacking later.

during our interview this morning, my boss introduced me as the "head MEG tech, or MEG goddess."  That was nice.

I got a new bike!  It is a "hybrid" (too roady to be mountainy, too heavy & slow to be a road bike and has chunky tires, AKA a "comfort" bike.  It is a women's Giant Cypress).  I went on a nearly 4 mile each way up the hill ride today, it was a good start.  Work is about 5 miles away, so a few more rides before I'll be tackling that (especially the ( Read more... )
