I think i have finally found that baggage that everyone else seems to have so much of. Tim and i have joked about drilling a hole in our heads and scratching out the bad memories, guess i wll have to look on the net to find out where regret is stored.

I was never going to drill a hole ... i always just figured I'd slide a pencil in through the corner of my eye and start scratching. Always a pencil.

But then you're kind of adding things, right? Childish-like scribbling on the brain?

Not sure how well lead or graphite writes on a wet squishy surface though. Still if you press hard enough you could write "happy" on the affected part like when the quality control people stamp "inspected by number 13" and then everything is sweet.

Pencil through the nose is the way. Frontal lobotomy = fun times!

If you do figure out how to get rid of memories, good as well as bad, please let me know. I have a bunch to get rid of so I can start living without waiting again.

but without bad memories, how you know what good ones were? even the good ones would sort of become nothing in the end as well. bad memories sometimes keep you from doing the same thing twice. although regret is something that probably cannot be unloaded or uploaded anywhere. it sort of sits in the back of one's mind, an uncomfortable weight that cannot be dislodged. only in paying attention to it or trying to get rid of it will cause you direct harm, but subconsciously, it probably continues to affect you, like a benign cancer or something.

besides, in scratching out bad memories, sometimes the good ones go with them. i guess the best thing to do then is to try to accept that whatever happened happened and that you can't change that now. or lose all that energy and time to your regrets

Acceptance is one thing, but not having fucked a person over in the first place is something else entirely. I have this mental image that comes back to me sometimes and it brings a harsh light of truth to things i wish i could undo.

Thanks kate girl :)

Do you ever think that somehow on some level people know what is in a persons past? Innately sort of thing?

definetly. i have a very fine tuned sense about people, and i always go by my first impression of people.

however i suppose that always has the oppurtunity to be proved wrong.
