Well, how was Light to know L would actually throw out the cake? And how was he to know that without cake, L would end up passed out on the duvet?
Okay, the second one is almost reasonable. But L has never seemed particularly... squeamish? Particular? ... Hygienic?
He certainly doesn't seem cute when he sleeps. Not in any way.
Light catches himself reaching to straighten the sheets beneath L, and hurriedly retracts his hand.
Light needs darkness to sleep. He can't reach the light switch, though, and L isn't moving. He sighs and lies back. Impossible man.
L whuffles softly in his sleep.

Dammit. He's adorable.
