If water was on the socket/plug Zhoumi would've died as soon as he touched the plug/the water on it.

Little details like that bug me. If you had put 'Zhoumi got a wooden/rubber stick and flicked the switch off at the wall' I would've been ok. There is a fair chance the plug would have melted and fused with the socket too.
