It's Urgent, Wait And See
Dinner was not going well, as
Storvik's attempt to socialize and establish himself as a legitimate commander of a "normal" starship were interrupted with the report that Storvik had been, simultaneously, engaged in a bar fight elsewhere on the station.
Starbase 668's commander,
Mason Galloway, seemed rather skeptical as Storvik attempted to explain the existence and presence of his alternate-universe analog
Evil Storvik (including the unstated insinuation that any havok that had been caused by a Storvik on the station in the past must have been the fault of that Storvik, and not the Captain Storvik sitting with Galloway in the restaurant). Storvik showed no emotion when there was another interruption; but even were he apt to do so, one couldn't say whether "relief" or "further irritation" was the logical response.
"
Khan to Storvik," came the communique from Storvik's commbadge, once he accepted the signal. "I think you should come by the Medical Bay. I have something interesting for you to see."
"Is it urgent?" Storvik asked, as Galloway asked the Vulcan, "Isn't he my medical officer? Why is he calling you?" While he awaited Khan's response, Storvik began to explain to Galloway that Khan was a clone of the doctor from the
USS Murgatroid who was serving time on Starbase 668 as punishment for a previous offense. Khan, who could hear this conversation over the open signal, occasionally interrupted with excuses and denials ("I was just having fun!" or "Well, yeah, but you can't blame me for that part!")
Galloway cut them both off. "Are there any other … unusual … things about your ship and crew that I should know about, before they arrive?" Before they could respond, it was Galloway's turn to receive a page over his commbadge. "Sir," they heard as he answered the signal, "we're tracking something inbound which the computers are so far unable to identify, because the sensors are having difficulty locking onto it. However, trailing behind it … in space … is Counsellor
Lothar of the USS Murgatroid."
"Check, please," said Storvik to the waiter.
