Thank you! I am certain that I could ask a myriad of questions! We are thinking of the area around Little Rock or Hot Springs and hopefully will be able to visit the area in the next few months. It really does look like a total bust in New Orleans, but rebuilding seems folly.
As far as hard experiences go, I think our evacuation the day of the storm really did keep the serious trials to a minimum, I truly feel fortunate, we have only lost all our possessions and home, not our lives. There are still many friends and family who did not fair as well as we did.
Perhaps we were overly concerned with our stuff and this is a good reminder of the truly important things in life. Rebuilding at our age was not what we were hoping for, but there has to be some reason behind it all and when life closes one door another opens, so optimism is my current stance.
Yes, all of mine got out, except for one friend who I think was in his little house in West Lakeview when the levee broke, but he escaped. I've been writing almost exclusively about it in my journal if you have the time to scroll it.
i worried and worried about your family, especially when i saw the flood map. thank you so much for updating. i missed you *before* the wicked Katrina, too! Eureka Springs, in Arkansas, is quite a wonderful place...
can i send you something? i have given a donation to Habitat for Humanity, but i would love to give something needed directly to someone i know, who lost things. i have so many things! (have been posting to Freecycle almost every day, as we are dramatically simplifying...) and ART SUPPLIES!! plenty to share...also lady and teenager clothing...books...i would love to share. email?
