The boats, man, the boats lying everywhere -- that shook me up too. And the way things changed when you crossed the parish line.

It looked more brown to me -- maybe grey-brown.

We couldn't save much from our house either. Just a few knick-knacks. Why bother, I thought, but people kept pressing them upon me.

Our experiences were very similar. My husband had to hack down the door to our guest bedroom with an axe. Nothing in there could be saved.

I really wonder -- is the city going to survive?

This was a bad weekend.

Very bad week that it was. I hope your house was in a better state than mine! We still have that air mattress for you. I have to admit to being relieved to get back to Natchitoches, I never thought that I would feel relief to leave my home. Hugs you tightly, hoping you find a new place to settle soon that is clean and restful.
