lol I am so useless because I've never even heard a lot of these songs.

But you should go to www.weareempires.com and download their album, Howl, for free. They're good! And I think they might fit in with what I do know from that list.

Also, it's free. So why not? XD

My standard response for people wanting something new is Jim's Big Ego. I've yet to have someone I introduce them to dislike them. They're a small local group, but just lots of fun, especially live. Go for the album "No Place Like Nowhere". If ou like it, get "Theyre Everywhere" next.

the stuff in your list is so far afield from my tastes! But here's some stuff that I think approaches (but is markedly different from) what you have here: The shins, ludo, cold war kids, vampire weekend, guster, the format, steel train, kate nash... uh, so as not to overwhelm you, let me know if any of these are winners for you and if they are I'll suggest some more ;)

I second Ariel's suggestion of Empires, because (a) their music's really good and (b) this is their drummer. ♥

mmm otherwise, do you know The Hush Sound (example) or Nightmare of You (example 1 example 2)?

idk I have a whole bunch of random crap uploaded that I can share if you want.
