In the year I've been here, I've never had something like these pains and bouts of insomnia last this long. It's really making me wonder if there's something going on that's bigger than a curse. Aside from that time people had memory lapses a few months ago, every other time something weird like this has happened, it's been because of something ( Read more... )

Young Master, do you think there may be something else happening? [Also, he's concerned about Tyr's mention of pains--he doesn't remember ever hearing anything about that.]

[ Tyr doesn't even think Gremio might mean that - how he received the scar, which Tyr still remembers from so long ago - but that Gremio is simply doing what he did and brushing off Tyr's concern. ]

I wouldn't have minded dealing with my leg pain either. [ He runs his fingers down the scar lightly as he apply the ointment. Has he even touched it before? Or since he was a little kid and didn't know better... ] But if you're going to do this, so am I.

But--Young Master- [He starts to protest, because simply leaving Tyr to deal with his pain is unthinkable! But Gremio sees his point and stops midsentence.] Y-yes...Thank you, Young Master.

[He doesn't mind Tyr's touch on his scar at all. It's not a feature he's ever been self-conscious of, and he can almost believe that the simple act of Tyr applying the ointment makes the ache less prominent.]

[ Anything to make the ache less. Even though Tyr doesn't think Gremio couldn't handle it, maybe part of Gremio's concern comes from how his own scar feels. ...Doing this gives Tyr more of an excuse to tell Gremio to stop worrying, too.

Covering it down the center, he drags his fingers across the horizontal cut. Then he just works it in with small circles. Is this how Gremio did it? He almost wishes he paid more attention to that than to how cold the ointment felt (and still feels under his fingers). ]

[Tyr's scar does indeed worry Gremio a little, especially now that it's hurting again. It makes him fret about what could possibly happen if these events get worse--what if the wound does reopen?

Nevertheless, he feels a little relieved with Tyr there and manages a slight smile, his eyes closed.] Thank you...That does feel better already.

[ Tyr is certain his scars will stay closed. Ordinarily, he would expect that, anyway... Somehow, seeing Gremio like this makes Tyr smile, too. ] Good... I feel better, too...

[ Then he pulls his hand away, wiping his fingers on the corner of his shirt. ] Now we can both stop worrying about pains.

Oh, do you really? That's great, Young Master! [Because as long as Tyr is in less pain, Gremio will be much happier.

He stands and smoothes out the wrinkles on the bed before he looks back to Tyr.] As soon as it begins to wear off, be sure to apply more--I'll help if you wish, as well.

[ Tyr takes a few steps back to give them their space and nods. ] I'll be able to handle reapplying it myself, thanks. You can come to me if you need help, though.

Yes, thank you. [He'll be leaving the ointment with Tyr, though, to make sure he has access to it as soon as he needs it.] Now I only hope that it doesn't keep affecting you for much longer.

Same here. I'm sure it'll be over soon, though...

[ He pauses, thinking. ] Other than that, you've been feeling okay, right?

I certainly hope so.

[He shakes his head and ponders over the last few weeks.] That's right, Young Master. There haven't been any other problems...and I don't believe I've experienced any curses, either. [He never realized he was cursed when he was thankful.]

[ Gremio's pain must be worse than Tyr's, he thinks. ...As long as Rita doesn't help it along, anyway.

And Tyr doesn't realise that wasn't a curse, either. Poor guys. Still, it makes Tyr smile up at him. That means luck is on their side now, right? ] Good. Maybe the deities are going to give us a break.

[Gremio doesn't have anyone making his own pain any worse! They are...lucky, yes. Somehow.] They really ought to, with everything that's happened. All the people in the City could use it, I'm sure!

[ Tyr wants to be lucky when he decides to make his deal! Which I still need to decide on the date of... ] Yeah. They have to be tired out from all this nonsense, too, anyway.

[Has Tyr heard that revived City!dead may lose their heartbeats?]

It has been difficult for many, especially anyone affected by these other strange problems. I wonder what others in the City might be experiencing.

[ Nope. I think the only one who mentioned anything about it was Euphie, and she didn't say it explicitly. ._. ]

Hopefully they're only mild problems that are even less noticeable than what we're experiencing... Let's just hope nothing gets worse.
