The Glofa went out to Steer Roast last weekend, where it took up residence in ( the Senior House elevator. )

Two deep cycle marine batteries, the ridiculously heavy lead-acid batteries that look like big car batteries. 12 Volts + 12 Volts = magic voltage needed by Glofa - it just bypasses the black box power supply entirely.

Unfortunately, some idiots who were in a hurry to move some drums after the bands finished playing shoved it out of the elevator without asking anyone, and managed to spill battery acid all over the basement floor. Fortunately, the basement was somewhat deserted at the time. Unfortunately, I was the one who discovered the mess and had to clean it up. Not. Fun. You know what tiny drops of battery acid do to clothes after you wash them, don't you? Instant punk holey clothes! Ah, well, it was fun for 1 1/2 nights!
