i think if you check at like target or something there's always some workout yoga dvds, and seldom are they actually hindu based (they usually have some skinny white chick on the front). also, my friend is a certified yoga instructor, and her mom is a yogini (which, i gather, means she's an instructor who went to india or nepal to learn about it), and she's devout catholic...so that bitch at cbd.com can eat that. :)

Hey Meg, you knew me in High School. I've been reading your journal for awhile now, and I think it's fascinating.

Anyway, my two cents on this is that doing Yoga, especially American McYoga, is very, very, VERY far removed from practicing Hinduism or ascribing to Eastern religious beliefs. The very most it asks of you is to connect with a spirituality that is a common thread of spiritual people everywhere, like you mentioned. You're using it for exercise and God knows that, and as you said, wants us to be healthy. It would also be a shame to have to go through life without learning about other cultures for fear of offending God. After all, other cultures are also His creation. It's kind of closed-minded to imagine that God cares whether we call Yoga moves their original names or not.

Also, hi! I hope you are well :)
