Last night, at work(by the way I'm a server), I watched my manager as she decorated a plate with a small cheese cake. She took her time writing in hot fudge,"We love the USA" and "God Bless." I asked what she was doing and she told me that the cheesecake was for a solider who was leaving to Iraq. She gathered all the servers and we all walked over ( Read more... )

That's so beautiful. I'm glad you all got to give that soldier a little something to thank him and wish him well on his trip. It may just have been a cheesecake, but it obviously meant so much more to him. You're such a loving girl and I'm glad to be your sister. SL!

All we can do is pray. We know what it's for, God knows what it's for...and He'll bring them home safe. You always seem to make me cry. Baby, I need to talk to you...call me when you get a chance...I need to see you.

And I want you to know that if the day comes for Ricky to go to Iraq, you guys will always be in my heart and in my prayers.

I'm taking a brake from my ever so fun studying for finals. I promise I'll call you in a little bit, but I hope everything is fine!!! (sigh) And I hope Ricky never has to go to Iraq. :(

WOW that entry literally put me into tears sister! And the reason is because you are soo right that us Americans take things for granted!! And then I cried hard right now because my guy best friend is over there in Iraq with the army and I act as of nothing, and in all reality something could happen to him right now and I take him for granted. Thank you for making me open up my eyes again. love you! SL

I hate you..I hate you...I hate you more. You are always the one to make me get a knot in my throat, I always dread reading your entries....but at the same time glad that i am able to read all these things because they just put me back into reality. It is always really easy to take things for granted, but when I read all the things you have learned from things as simple as ricky giving himself up to the government, I always cry out compassion for the two of you.....ricky is a strong guy, it takes a lot of balls to get the courage and give yourself up for this country....but on the contrary, you are strong also because you learn to live through rough times! Love ya!
