"I cut my gaze to the right to see what new companion I had. Eric. Oh, great."

I've been so busy this week! And literally all the free time that I had was spent working on this picspam, haha. I feel so behind on the internets.

I have so many other things to update about(I STOOD ON THE GRAND STAIRCASE OF THE MOTHERFUCKING TITANIC LAST WEEKEND...a recreation, but still!), but I'll leave that for tomorrow. For now...

I'm totally going to friend you because your picspams are made of WIN. And this was definitely the best episode so far, but the way I hear it, this Sunday is going to top it.

Sookie and Eric walking together like that, on the same side, had such a strong effect on me. Eric was never even in this scene in the book, and yet this felt more book!canon than possibly anything that has ever happened on the show thus far.

I felt the same way watching this scene. I think it's because even before and after Book 4 (and the amnesiac sex-a-thon), Eric seems to always be the one trying to get her out of the shit she gets mixed up in. And it's safe to say that he's been there for her since really this point, when she escapes the FotS and he's standing outside the hotel waiting for her.

Also, when Sookie runs away from Bill and pulls the chains off Eric, that totally made give a little fangirly squee. That was awesome. But I'm like you, was Bill really just going to leave his sheriff there to burn? I mean, wtf?

Ok, seriously, does Bill not ( ... )

Yup! I mean, Eric and Sookie really working together on the same side really starts here. And then it only gets worse after book 4 (but really book 4 only happened because of how much he had feelings for her/was there for her prior to that).

I actually think it's possible that Bill could have been (almost) this defiant in the books, only we never saw it because it was from Sookie's POV and therefore we never saw Eric/Bill alone together.

When I was skimming the book for quotes for this picspam this part struck me:

"Eric held up his hand to indicate that he'd get to me in a minute. 'Bill, I'll take her up and start doctoring.' Eric's back stiffened. 'Bill,' he said and there was a world of threat in his voice. 'All right then. Good-bye.' He turned back to me as if there had been no interruption at all."
- Living Dead In Dallas, pg. 176Clearly Bill said something to Eric ( ... )

I was going to quote so many things but I realized I would only ALWAYS say "ITA". I really couldn't agree more about everything you said. Even when you talked about Alex/Anna's chemistry because I got into the fandom the same way. Saw S1 and 2 up to that haircut and then started reading the books... and books!Eric will always have S2!Eric's hair for me too.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling and thank you again for the best recap of the week!

Whenever the author brings up Eric putting his hair in a ponytail or refers to him having long hair AT ALL I'm usually like *IGNORES IGNORES IGNORES* lol.
Which is what I do with most of the paragraphs describing Sookie's clothes too since they usually sound pretty unflattering. haha.

Thanks, no problem, feel free to ramble away! :D

I totally igrore them too. For me Eric = S2!ASkars. That'll never change. I just can't have my favorite (male) character with long hair. That's not possible.

Hehe I do that too. That's why I love reading, you can imagine the details yourself if you need to.

Thanks! Yea, I feel like the show and the books really just compliment each other. There are little insights about the "Sookie world" that you can get from each that you can't find in the other version of the story. I love trying to tie them together.

mmm yes Eric and Godric definitely bring the pretty! :D
