"I'll see you in another life, brotha."

So, I've been working on this post for about a week. At first it was just going to be a few of my thoughts about the finale. And then it morphed into...lol whatever it is now. It's not really a picspam (there are more words than pics under cut) but it kind of became that. I just kept adding and adding to it. If anyone reads the whole thing ( Read more... )

picspam: lost, tv: lost, picspam, public

omg i admire all of you for staying with this series, it must have been so emotionally draining/taxing/whatever on you. i already feel so sad looking at the picspam and i've never even watched a single episode of Lost. I know most of the characters though, from reading stuff online.

so in the end, even the characters who survived were in the Afterlife part? Wow, that's fucking confusing! I remember when I read what happened in the finale I was so depressed (AND I DON'T EVEN WATCH THIS SHOW) because I thought everyone had died.

Oh gosh, you should now! The whole journey was wonderful and came to such a satisfying conclusion. I recently re-watched the whole show before the finale and I think it plays out even better when you marathon-watch.

lol no, only 1 of the main characters actually died in the finale. Everyone else died in their own time. Kate may have lived to be 90 years old for all we know, and Hurley could have lived to be 500 (because he was ~magically~ in charge of the island, haha). But it was saying that whenever you die you meet up with the people that meant the most to you in your life and since time doesn't matter there you all meet at the same time. Kind of like how in Titanic Rose died when she was 92 but when she died Jack was there at the same time (even though he died at 17).

only Jack died? but I thought a shit ton of people died this season! So there are people stuck on the island still alive? Like Hurley? Okay, I should go watch it myself and figure it out.

Aw, this makes me want to watch Titanic again, haha.

Well, Sun/Jin/Sayid all died about 3 episodes ago and that was sad. But Jack (lol and the Smoke monster) are the only ones who died in the finale.

Kate/Claire/Sawyer/Miles/Richard/Frank all left the island on a plane so they're headed back to the states.

Hurley is in charge of the island now, with Ben as his #2 so they are the only ones who are staying to run it together. And the first thing they are going to do is send Desmond home to his wife and baby.

This is so so so brilliant, I love it. Saving to my mems!

BASICALLY I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID

I can't bring myself to make a proper reaction post because I can't get anything out coherently when I think about the finale (STILL!) so yes, really, this post is perfect for me. I WANT TO REWATCH THE ENTIRE SERIES NOW.

ALSO YOU GOT ME CURIOUS

It's definitely on my top 10 list of favorite shows of all time.

what's your top ten!? :D

Ah yea, that what was why I hadn't posted about it for a week. I WASN'T READY TO LET GO! And I guess I'm still not but...I'm getting there. lol

ooo I don't actually know what my top 10 shows of all time are. haha I just know Lost would be on it.

Umm definitely Friends and Buffy. Those are really the only two others that I can think of where I was really obsessed with from start to finish ( ... )

Thanks so much for this! You pointed out some things I hadn't noticed and pretty much stated everything else that I felt. What is UP with people misreading the finale? This show has confused me plenty of times, but this episode wasn't one of them.

I'm sure they all met other people. Especially the girls who were barely 30 when they left the island. But whoever they all met would never be as important/significant as Charlie/Jack/Juliet.

Doesn't Christian say something about the group in the church being only people from the crash and those associated closely with them and the island? That would explain why people from "outside" the losties' lives are not there (other spouses, children, etc.).

ikr? There are still a million things about Lost that are left up in the air, but the ending (and what the AU was) was explained pretty point blank. I heard that some people got confused because of the nostalgic s1 photos of plane wreckage ABC chose to air at the end. You know, just so it wouldn't jump right into the local news the second after Jack's eye closed.
lol ABC actually to have a press release to explain that those photos had nothing to do with the finale.

Yea, he said it was because their time on the island was the most significant of their lives. haha and yea it would have been awkward if Kate or Claire had husbands later in life. Jack and Charlie would have been like, "UM WHAT?"

I'm so glad that they had another happy moment together. The way their relationship ended was just too tragic. :'(
