"I'll see you in another life, brotha."

So, I've been working on this post for about a week. At first it was just going to be a few of my thoughts about the finale. And then it morphed into...lol whatever it is now. It's not really a picspam (there are more words than pics under cut) but it kind of became that. I just kept adding and adding to it. If anyone reads the whole thing ( Read more... )

picspam: lost, tv: lost, picspam, public

I will read this later in its entirety but I skipped down to the Dan/Charlotte section so now I'm just curious - do you feel the fact that they didn't flash when they met at the concert justified their involvement in 6.11? That like they weren't on the same level as Charlie/Claire and Desmond/Penny and the writers acknowledged that by not having them flash but allowing them to .. idk meet and be cute and probably date in the alt world to see if they were actually the loves of each others lives or find out they weren't, aha.

I don't know if that was really it. I mean, Hurley/Libby certainly weren't any kind of "EPIC" love and they still flashed on each other.

TBH, I think most of it has to do with the fact that they weren't original cast members or directly connected to any original cast member. haha that's totally lame, i know, but I do think that's part of the reason.

And they really didn't get to build up Dan/Charlotte enough. I mean, for him I can sort of see how he might flash on her because he was in love with her. But for her? Idk she died too soon to say.

I was talking with someone else about the fact that maybe since they both really died too soon for anything to happen with them, that part of their afterlife would be about them dating and finding what they never had in their real life. And I really liked that.

Plus, I think Daniel had some stuff to sort out with his mom to because if he can officially "move on".

It really was this amazing journey that works so well when you think of it from start to finish. And how many shows can you even say that about (discounting ones that only lasted for 1 or 2 seasons)? It's rare.

And even the unanswered questions and pretty much all answered when you really sit down and think about it.

I can't wait to watch the whole thing again!

THIS POST IS SO EPIC! ♥

The finale was amazing and I don't think I'll be getting over it any time soon. I agree with so much of what you wrote. :DD

I so wished so badly that Daniel and Penny would have a scene together. FAIL WRITERS :(

ikr? it somehow made the show seem so much more awesome when you look back on it as a full story. And there's only a few other shows I can really say that about in the history of television.

I wish Penny had been more involved in the finale in general. She could have been sitting at the table with Desmond, being adorable, and then she could have gone back stage and wished her lil bro good luck. It would have taken barely a minute of screentime but putting her in 2 little scenes would have made my life.

This is so awesome! I don't even know how to write anything else about because you went into such detail and I agree with all of it. The same ideas and moments affected me.

I just loved this finale so much and you did an excellent job of explaining exactly why it worked. ♥

Aw, I love your icon. I just really loved that it ended in a way that seemed to really strengthen the show as a whole. And now when we look back everything will have so much more meaning.
