There are so many phenomenally brilliant lines here I can't hope to quote them all, but let me just say that the entire rhythm of this piece was perfect-- the clipped pace and structure made for such a brilliant, yet subdued, crescendo at the end.
I sincerely hope that you will write more for us soon. : )

This was so pretty in many places, where certain lines were so succinct, yet conveyed so much.
"She almost stumbles forward, and by the time Kara finds her centre of gravity again Lee’s already stalking away. He wipes his hand on his leg as he exits the room." That one really hurt. Lee can be such an ass sometimes. Like, honestly? I understand the anger, but the lack of maturity was alarming.
Since you got to ride the coattails of Fahye's ending, I'll just say that you highlighted it in a fantastic way that made Kara's sometimes stilted logic, but flawed heart still so loveable. Oh sigh, so glad to read something from you again. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your really lovely feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. (It would appear that someone a bit lower in the comments didn't share your opinion. ;))
