My husband and the boys went to see the comedian, Lewis Black tonight. That was his Father's Day present. Megan had to work so I was the only babysitter. Today should have been my brother Doug's 37th birthday, instead he died 7 1/2 years ago of cancer (Non-Hodgkin lymphoma). He was 29.

I miss him.

Seriously? Last Tuesday, we expected to absolutely mobbed because we closed early the previous Thursday and were closed Fri-Mon but no, we weren't. Today. after being closed for only Sun & Mon, we were absolutely jam-packed with people. I finally got out at 5:45pm. I'm supposed to get out at 5:00pm. This isn't really a complaint. My husband brought home a printout he made of some ideas for budget cuts that are on our governor's website. A few of the ideas consist of closing DMV one day a week and another is to close a 1/2 hour early every day in order to cut down on overtime. I had an e-mail from the owner of the yarn store the other day letting me know of the store's anniversary sale that would be going on this weekend. I just spent $402 there just 12 days ago.
