Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: I mean come on, really? The first BSG SUCKED SO MUCH!! Till this day I still cannot sit though a damn episode, nor do I even want to! When the reimagined BSG came out I sad NO FREALLING WAY!! Stupid robots are stupid (hate robots). It took me 2 years, a helluvalot of convincing from people I knew, and Lucy Lawless to guest star on the damn show before I even gave it any thought. AND THEN HOLY MOTHER-FRAKKIN' SHIT I WAS FUCKING HOOKED and found one of my Kara's (the other one being Cara)!!!
FIREFLY: Again, REALLY.. I hate westerns (which is weird because I love horses/guns/fighting/etc). But a Western in Space? WTF are you smoking and can I have some because there was no way in hell this could be good. I don't care if Joss has something to do with it and Gina Torres is in it. In fact, the only reason I watched it was because of Gina Torres. AND THEM BLAM! Hooked again, and I fell absolutely in love with Morena Baccarin!! (Nathan Fillion & Alan Tudyk are also awesome)
Day 11 - A show that disappointed you:
Painkiller Jane: Ugh, to everyone.. please stop turning my favorite comic book/video game characters into movies and television shows. It makes me sad. There are so many of them that could be done really well, but they all fail and suck because people try to make them into something they are not. Painkiller Jane is one of my favorite comic book characters. She's smart, sexy, and well you basically can't kill her. I was pissed off when I heard they were going to be making a tv series out of Painkiller Jane, but at the same time I was excited. It would have made a great series, especially since Jimmy Palmiotti was behind it, and Kristanna Loken was going to be Jane (love her). However, the show just never really got there :( ..I do own it on dvd though *lol*
Day 12 - An episode you’ve watched more than 5 times: Really? Just look at all of my favs and there ya go. I re-watch series and eps waaay too many times.
Day 13 - Favourite childhood show
The X-Files!!!! (1993 - 10 yrs old)...Ahh X-FILES!!! I love this show SFM!!!! The only reason I don't put it on my fav list and such is because the last few seasons I didn't really care for. The show will ultimately be one of my favorites forever, but it was never a solid favorite every season like it is with my other favorite shows. What's not to love about this show? I was 10 years old when it premiered and everyone knew how OBSESSED I was over it!!! I loved the aliens/mysteries.. and Dana Scully was the softer side of kick-ass, but extremely smart and looked good with a gun.
Xena Warrior Princess (1995 - 12yrs old) XENAAAAA!!! This was more toward my pre-teen years but I don't care. This fucking show as the best thing in my life for the longest time! I've always been a tom-boy (hate that word), and was and still am "one of the guys." This however was frustrating when younger because I could never understand why a "tough chick" couldn't be just a "tough chick." And then this show came on!! Not only is the lead a WOMAN, but she's a WOMAN WARRIOR and the show IS ABOUT HER! Oh, right, and her sidekick? A FUCKING WOMAN.. that's right guys, A WOMAN. And the only other regular character who's male we see frequently is Joxer, who's a bumbling fucking idiot (love him and Ted Rami though!!). AAAANNNDD.. WHO ARE THE MAIN "BADDIES?" FUCKING WOMEN!!! Calliso/Alti are both strong kick-ass female baddies!!! (Not counting the gods here). Ok, so there ends my rant about STRONG KICK-ASS WOMEN that this show provided for me/rolemodels. THANK YOU SHOW!
