http://community.livejournal.com/startrek_rate/36030.html#cutid1 Likes/Hobbies:
Debating, science, forensics, politics, philosophy, open minded people, warm fires, horse riding, sailing, running, shooting, world war two, poetry, playing the piano, swimming, football, clubbing, cocktails, cigars, perfume, incense, venetian masks, eccentrics, foreign films, sarcasm, christmas carols, Ann Summers, New Scientist, classical music, crime fiction, singing, travelling and having a full schedule.
Talents:
I'm a surprisingly good singer, debating, public speaking, I can spin bowl, good at football, initiating conversation, offering practical advice, sprinting, playing the piano, swimming, badmington, horse riding, shooting, sailing, accepting new challenges, photographic memory and I am good with technology.
Dislikes/Pet Peeves:
Narrow minded people, uninformed opinions, people walking behind me, people talkign with their mouths full, underwear that doesn't match, falling over, being bored, indecisiveness, being late and people crying (I don't know how to deal with it)
Fears:
I'm not sure I have any. I don't like the thought of growing old and being helpless and I have a really strange phobia of people walking behind me and murderers, that's quite irrational. And the thought of dying and not being remembered, dying itself holds no fear (although I am sure it will when the time comes) but the thought of death being all there is, now that IS scary.
Goals:
I would like to go into Politics or become a Criminal Psychologist. I would like a nice comfortable earning wage. And have a good time. That's about all I could ask for.
8 Positive Adjectives:
Intelligent, charismatic, independent, confident, organised, decisive, eloquent and ambitious
8 Negative Adjectives:
Arrogant, sarcastic, cynical, obsessive, manipulative, vain, proud and stubborn
Mature or Immature?
Mature. I can have fun, and I'm not perfect by any means but definately on the whole I am more mature.
Leader or Follower?
Leader, or the snarky second in command. I have no objection with authority or taking orders so that isn't a problem, and I have the grace to admit when I'm wrong so I can follow if the occasion calls.
Confident or Modest?
Confident, but I don't boast about my own achievements (much) that gets boring after a while.
Impulsive or Cautious?
Cautious, but I can also be impulsive, just not about the things that count.
Outgoing or Reserved?
Outgoing, I'm not in your face but I am certainly confident in myself and friendly.
Listener or Speaker?
Speaker. I talk too much. But I will listen when needs be.
Optimistic, Pessimistic, Realist, and/or Idealist?
Optimistic realist. Life is too short to be a pessimist but you need to be realistic with it.
What role do you tend to play in your group of friends? What about your family?
With friends I am the sarcastic one, who is also a bit crazy. With my family I am the sensible, repsonsible one who makes a point of not getting drawn into arguments or take sides.
Favorite quote not from the film and why:
"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today" [James Dean] I don't put this into practice enough (although I try) but it's a good if somewhat impractical motto. Or "I say we take off and nuke the whole site from orbit. It's the only way to make sure" [Lieutenant Ripley, Aliens] that's another awesome quote.
You've successfully been accepted into Starfleet Academy. What are your reasons for joining? (Is it just for the thrill of someday being on a ship?) I am quite ambitious and the Starfleet Academy offers a certain amount of prestige. Also you'd be mad not to.
And now for a nerdy question. What's your favorite part/aspect of/about the Enterprise and why? ... I like not so much the ship as the crew, after all it is people who make the series/film not the ship. I literally can't conjure up any distinguishing feature of the Enterprise that leaps out at me.
Anything else? No thank you.
