He turned his head slightly when she spoke, his expression still serious, yet his eyebrows had raised at her. "Good job I'm in the right place for treatment, then," he countered with a slight drawl.

He liked this, though. That they had a good working relationship, as well as personal. He of course wouldn't have allowed any other nurse to make such a crack at him, but that was besides the point.

Spock didn't like the scheduled physicals any more or less than any other member of the crew. But it was always better to simply get it over and done with in the most expedient fashion possible. He was also aware that as one of the commanding officers it would be better to make an example and not try to avoid or put off his visit.

Scheduling the requisite amount of time before the start of his shift, the Vulcan made his way to Medical Bay. He was, of course, unaware of any special treatment that the good doctor had planned. There was to be expected, of course, the same slight delay Spock experienced every time he was forced to have a physical with a new attending physician. No, he was not nervous, his heart rate was always that fast and yes, the equipment was working properly, his heart actually did sit there, sort of near his stomach and slightly to the side ( ... )

Kirk prayed for something that might distract him a little more. But of course, Spock had to go on and be infuriatingly good at his job again and send all required forms to Starfleet. They were in-transit, now, so there were no planets to inspect, nothing in particular that he could be doing at that moment. The Enterprise was running as smooth as silk, and Kirk found himself suddenly without an excuse not to go have his required physical done.

It wasn't like he hated physicals. They were necessary, of course, and in the Academy he'd always kept up with them. Had to, really, when your best friend was a doctor and reminded you about them constantly. It was all part of going up into space and keeping yourself safe. The physical part of it, really, never bothered Jim -- he was comfortable going in, comfortable with being inspected, usually relieved when nothing was wrong with him. He took measures to being safe, keeping himself healthy ( ... )

It surprised Bones when Jim walked through to his medical bay. Even more so with the fact that he seemed to be there 5 minutes early. Jim was either hoping the hell to get this out of the way, or he was trying to baffle Bones into being gentle with him.

A raised brow the main focus of his expression, he walked over to Jim, and reached out to pat his shoulder.

"No excuses to get out of it?" He asked him, half expecting Jim to have a list as long as his arm, to try to get out of this.

"I'd claim to have a headache, but I don't think that'd help my case any," Kirk replied with a rather sarcastic tone, obviously not looking forward to it. It was important, though, in it's own little way, and Kirk may or may not have rubbed his neck in apprehension of any wayward hyposprays. Despite however put off he was by having to report for his physical, Kirk gave his friend a smile, glad for the excuse to at least see him again.

His hand twitched, and he held it out to Bones expectantly. "Chr- Nurse Chapel said you had something to put on this to make it stop itching." It was really, really tempting, but Kirk had a feeling tearing his stitches out would cause more harm than good. The area around it was already red from him trying to ease the discomfort.

"Not at all," he replied. He returned his smile - though only so slightly, as he stepped closer to take a look at his hand. Raising an eyebrow, he gestured for Jim to follow him to a bio-bed at the far end of the medical bay.

"What have you been doing to it? Look at how red and irritated it is, Jim? Do you want to prolong this?" He chastised him, as he turned to make up a hypo, to ease the itching and the raw red on his skin.

He did seriously consider just stabbing him in the neck with it, but he felt that perhaps he should try -- try being the operative word -- to ease Jim into this.

"Shirt off. Lets let those moobs breathe."

Like every normal person without a doctor fetish, Sulu didn't enjoy physicals. It was that reasoning that made him ask McCoy to get him out of the way at the beginning. As far as he was concerned, the worst should be gotten out of the way as quick as possible. He would rather be doing his job, or spending time with Pavel, or working out. He would rather not be entering the med bay like he was, even if Christine worked there. She was a wonderful woman, sure, but she was still a nurse. Someone had to stick hypos in him, and it always could be her.

"Doc?" Hikaru announced himself, waiting for the inevitable. "I'm here for my physical."

Those were evil, evil words.

Bones had obviously felt generous whilst making up the appointment rota, as he had given in to Sulu's request, placing him early in the pecking order. So when he saw him, he gave him a polite nod of his head, and pointed back to a bio-bed. He'd go through the basics with him first, leaving the fun stuff - for him - till last. The 'fun stuff' being the hypos.

"Nice and on time. Lets hope you set a precedent." Which he highly doubted.

"I don't exactly see the point in being late for something that's required." Sulu replied honestly with a shrug as he sat down on the bio-bed that Bones had pointed to. "I can't imagine the Captain will be too thrilled though." Oh yes, he had heard of the many adventures of Jim Kirk that featured Bones and hypos. Anyone who hadn't must have been living under a rock.

"What's first, Doc?"

He gave a slight nod in agreement to what he said and, when Sulu sat up on the bed, he took hold of a little light, as he stepped closer.

"Reflex tests, and I want to make sure your vision is still peak," he lifted his hand up then, and held up a finger. "Watch my finger," and, like a typical Doctor, he moved the light to check out his eyes as he moved his finger. "Then we'll get your heart rate checked, so shirt off after this, please," he spoke, before lowering his hand and the light, reaching for his PADD to make notes. "Seems fine so far."

Charlene chewed absently at her fingernails as she strode as quickly as she could toward the medical bay without full out running. Once again, she had got carried away futzing with some wiring in one of the plasma conduits and lost track of time. Fucking shit. She was late and she wasn't even sure how late she was. That also meant she was still in her slightly soiled work clothes and her hair was all matted down on the left side from how she'd had to twist to get to the right position to do the repairs she needed to do.

She paused for a moment outside the the doors, a little desperately smoothing her clothes and pulling at her hair. After a deep breath, she went in, putting on her most pleasant smile. Charlene cleared her throat awkwardly. "I'm Lieutenant Masters, I'm late, and I'm sorry."

Bones was become frustrated, which was evident with how he barked at the computer for the time. Typical - someone was already late. That didn't look promising for the rest of his physicals.

So when she came through the door, obviously having rushed there - was this medical simply an afterthought? - he narrowed his eyes, looking her over.

Though it was when she spoke that he really was wound up. So this was the one that had contributed to Nyota's pain?

Pursing his lips together slightly, he stepped closer. "Yes, you're late. Bio-bed 4, please, Lieutenant."

Charlene wrinkled her nose slightly, not enjoying the way Dr. McCoy was looking at her. But she managed to keep a slight smile on her face. Though she couldn't stop herself from reaching up to helplessly pull at her hair again. Christ, she was hopeless. Ridiculously hopeless.

And okay, she might be a little intimidated by him. Just a bit. When he stepped closer Charlene shuffled back slightly, cringing internally. But to her credit, he didn't look extremely pleased. Or pleased at all.

Taking a deep breath, Charlene got a hold of herself. "Sorry again, sir, I got distracted making repairs to one of our plasma conduits," she said, spotting Bio-bed 4 and heading in that direction. "I tend to get really involved in my work to the exclusion of everything else." She hopped up on to the bed, swinging her legs slightly. "Quick and painless good for you? I'm a fan of that route when it comes to this stuff," she said, trying out a small grin.

"Quick and painless is always the intention," he replied, walking with her to the biobed. He sighed as he lifted up his medical tricorder and began scanning her.

"In six months, I expect you here on time for the next physical, understood?" He spoke up, his eyes fixed on the tricorder to monitor the readings. His physicals were far more important than damn plasma conduits!

Nyota fiddled with the earring hanging from the ear currently not occupied by her headset, jotting down notes on the PADD near her--she knew that it was more logical to document in the computer system first, but she enjoyed being able to record things in her own hand, first. And if she was going to be honest, she'd been trying to avoid the physical that had been scheduled for her because, well, who REALLY liked hyposprays? Of course, she knew that Bones was going to be nicer to her than he might have been to others--mainly because he had a soft spot for her a mile wide (that was definitely a mutual feeling), and because she'd been hurt enough lately ( ... )

Bones couldn't help it, but when he saw Nyota, his lips quirked slightly, obviously pleased to see her. She was one of the few people he'd be happy to see, and that was why he'd scheduled her physical so early on in the rota. He knew she'd want it out of the way, and he wanted to start on a high note.

So, giving his PADD a glance and a tap to mark her off, he walked over to her.

"What are you worried about? Someone like you, you'll be in and out in 10 minutes." He had no doubt that she was the picture of health and would ease through.

"Bonus points for not trying to worm out of it," he added, as he gestured for her to follow him to one of the bio-beds.

To be honest, she was glad that he'd put her so early on the list--she wanted to get this done with and get back to her day. It wasn't that she didn't trust Bones, or think he wasn't a good doctor, or something equally ridiculous. Ever since her mother's illness, and all those endless days in the hospital, being in sickbay and near doctors just made Nyota's skin crawl--it was a decidedly uncomfortable feeling, and she hated to admit she was terrified of physicals ( ... )

"No need to be nervous with me," he replied. Most others had good reason, but he would always be a gentleman, polite and careful with Uhura. He took hold of his medical tricorder then and began to scan her.

His lips quirked into a smile and he raised his head to look at her. "Now you're just flatterin' me," he drawled, shaking his head. He let out a little 'hmph' of disapproval at the mention of the 'Commander'. "Damn hobgoblin," he simply replied. Spock was of course on time. Terribly predictable.

(HA! maybe :P He'll see those bruises and be all 'wtf, what have you been DOING?!)
