Kevin Riley walked into Sickbay, trying to draw as little attention to himself as possible. He was only here because he had to get his physical out of the way. He normally avoided this place like the plague.
His head shot up from his PADD when the doors to his medical bay opened. Glancing back down, he marked off the young man, pleased to see he'd made it relatively on time.
He walked over, and gestured towards one of the biobeds. "Officer Riley," He gave him a slight nod in greeting. "Bio-bed 3."
"Yes Doctor." Kevin replied respectfully, returning the physician's nod. He made his way over to the Bio-bed that had been indicated and took a seat.
He tried to breathe deeply, but it wasn't working too well. His shoulders were killing him, but he already knew he was tense. Didn't need anyone to tell him that one. He was in good shape, though, so this shouldn't take very long...hopefully. And the less questions he had to answer, the better.
Jane actually didn't mind physicals all that much. She knew it was probably weird, but she'd had six brothers growing up, and they all were injured more than once in their lifetimes, and they'd all always been rather fascinated with the way medicine worked--and, with a minor in history, she'd been particularly interested in the methods from hundreds of years before, during wars especially. Cutting a leg off with a saw? Gruesome, but also kind of neat.
So she didn't really mind waltzing into the medbay and smiling cheerily at Doctor McCoy--she'd only ever seen him from afar, and really only knew him because he was one of the names NOT crossed off on The List. "Hello," she greeted him cheerfully. "Where would you like me to go for this little examination? Oh, and I'm Janice, but you can call me Jane, although I'm sure you knew that already."
He knew that Rand was cheerful, as he'd heard much about her, but he had no idea she was THIS perky. He groaned inwardly, and nodded, gesturing towards one of the biobeds.
"Nice and on time, Ms Rand," he commented politely. He led her over to the biobed and gestured for her to jump on up.
"Jane," he repeated. He knew that a lot of patients tended to relax and do what they were told better, if he made the attempt to be personal.

He lifted up his medical tricorder and began scanning him, his eyes fixed on the device to read the information produced. "How are you feeling?"
