So the federal election was held in Kenya on the 27th. Three days later, the results are still not available. It seems to be an incredibly close race (a google search reveals polls predicting victory on both sides), and the country is growing impatient. I know.. I am on the fence about whether the opposition really did rig it or if Kibaki's people is simply attempting to smear Raila. I would like to believe we will get fair results soon, but the further they wait, the more the situation gets worse and the more cynical people become.

That's interesting, I had heard that it was Kibaki orchestrating the votes, not Odinga! But I'm guessing there are smear campaigns against both sides. Politicians never play nice.

I'm hoping that the 31st will yield some results. It would be nice to start the new year without the tension, though I'm guessing it will take a few weeks to settle completely no matter what the result.
