Breakfast on Maine Street

I took breakfast this morning at the Broadway Delicatessen, manning table eleven: my usual place, my usual table. Vivi the waitress sat with me a moment. We’re friends. She has dibs on my copy of Big-Box Swindle by Maine author Stacy Mitchell. I’ve 50 pages to go.

Coastal Characters!My friend Nancy Bigelow, owner of the above mentioned Broadway Delicatessen was in the Coastal Journal this week. My boxing coach, Jack Albis, was covered earlier.
Coincidentally, Stacy Mitchell's book Big-Box Swindle covers how and why so many American communities are under stress or even obliterated. She also describes what we can do about it. It's a fine book.
