The cough had been there, ever since a month after he'd arrived. He hardly figured it was the reason the... so called "nurse" was claiming to take him to the infirmary. Or whatever.

...as always, he'd been forcefully stripped of his clothes-- no, those weren't "his" clothes. Just garments "provided" by this place-- and he'd put up little, to no resistance. Mostly this was due to the annoying cough. It left him weak, he could feel it, and it grated on his nerves, on his pride and on his temper. He hated it here, down to the very core of his being, but it still hadn't even started to compare to what he had been through as a child. At least it was with a sense of satisfaction he told himself this, because he wouldn't let this place break him. As if it could.

They had tried though. Dragging in him to the asylum. Alma. And then he'd suddenly disappeared again. It'd felt best to treat it as a new stage of hallucination. Usually, he just saw the flowers, but Alma had been here, for a good number of weeks. 'ch. Not that he cared. He didn' ( ... )

Seimei didn't draw closer to the Exorcist when he went without a response. Not by much, at least - he moved to the side so that he was standing perpendicular to the door, making room for Kanda to walk past him.

"I thought you should have a chance to walk to the infirmary on your own, instead of being dragged. To obey for once."

He gestured simply from Kanda to the door with a wave of his hand, but his eyes didn't move from the young man's frame. There was something cruel about the way he surveyed his patient's nudity. There was no interest in his eyes, no tendency for them to wander, not even anything probing, but they still settled on Kanda with a dehumanizing glint, the kind of look that didn't see anything but meat.

"Stand up and come with me."

Kanda just raised an eyebrow at the other, not moving from where he was sitting on the bed. It didn't lie in his interest to "obey" as he said. Not that it ever went well for him when he didn't, but he planned on putting up his resistance for as long as he could. He couldn't-- didn't want to give in to the authorities of this place.

He felt just like the other looked at him as some sort of animal or inanimate object with the ability to move. He willed himself to ignore it for the most part, but it still gnawed at this nerves and his self-restraint. So he remained seated and just settled for a glare.

"No."
