This Killing Time is Killing Me

Jan 21, 2008 01:00

An excess of time has led me to realise that I need to pick up a new hobby.

I fence, I ride, I drink, I read books, I shoot things, I watch a lot of films, I fling arrows, I hit my mates in fields and I spend a weekend a month down in Toon at school but they all require either other people being present or being in specific places at specific times ( Read more... )

Knitting is a perfectly good hobby for that sort of time pattern, don't see why you would need an alternative :P
What did you think of the mêlée show?

Melee- it was great. Have watched it three times. First person on screen is the fella I ride with and one of my old helmets was in the Wallace shots with Toby :-)

There is now to be a marshall tourney happening this year- think where SCA mets reenactment. It wil be tres cool indeed :-)

I was wondering if you knew anyone who was on there. We quite enjoyed it as well. Very tricksy with wearing the plate armour and then saying, 'Ah, but this is not what he wore! Fooled you!' All the armour geeks were ready to pounce on that one ;)

The bits with Alan larsen were mainly bollocks- but that's what you get if you use Larsen.

The other guys are "faces" from the scene- like Toby Capwell and the like and, yep, the LH fora were awash with folk complaining about the plate who then had to bite their tongues when it switched :-)

Currently writing regs and rules for a foot tourney that may happen this summer if all goes well- maybe a small test run at Kelmarsh or even Lanark...more expense...yet more ways to impress the ladies...;-)

I believe they're hiring at the Shreddies factory.

I am, unfortunately, not as fast as those factory-based old ladies.

They do indeed seem supremely efficient.

Good grief, I would expect comments on knitting on my wife's journal but yours, that's unexpected.

That said nothing wrong with it, so long as you don't spend hours drooling over yarn ;)

I have a ton of paints if someone else has the models if you want to do some painting.
