Poll Six Suites for Solo Cello, but which cellist?One of my favorite Monty Python bits as a child was Pablo Casals leaping from on high into a bucket of boiling fat while playing music. Casals' recording of the cello suites, even in mono, kicks the ass of Yo-Yo's recording. It has all this cool ornamentation and just a huge amount of energy.

I do vaguely recall it being very passionate. But I only own the Yo-Yo Ma version which I like quite a bit. :)

Muahahaha. I own both, plus part of Rostrapovich, and I'm fixing to buy Patricia McCarty's version on viola as well.
