I've already told some of you this, but I was fired from Walmart last Friday after being there for about 6 and a half years. It was partly my fault, partly a customer's, but the end result is that I need to start looking for another job. I should be feeling sad, but I feel more free from that place than anything, since after a while it just kinda

Hi there. I'm a friend of ArchTeryx's and Swandog's. I'm sorry to hear about the job loss.

I myself lost my job in February myself, I ended up having a complication from a workman's comp case (post concussive syndrome caused my sleep apnea to go haywire and caused a narcoleptic episode, which they took as me being lazy at work), so they fired me while on Workman's comp....

If you feel you were in the right, there might be an appeal process. I tried that myself.
I'd also apply for unemployment, which can help, however much. I wasn't supposed to get it for "misconduct" but I was able to convince the IL unemployment office while I broke a rule, it was not with intention and was not in my control. Because it was not intentional, it's not misconduct to them. So I do get unemployment benefits. It's worth a shot trying.
