So in exactly one week and one day, I'll be in Cork! Very exciting indeed. I've got so much stuff I need to prepare - I have to pack my trunk, make sure everything's filled out and arranged, buy items I'll really need in Ireland - and, on top of it all, say goodbye to family and friends.

Some friends will be coming over on Friday, so I can say ( Read more... )

Oh, I bet you're really excited now. I hope you'll have a great time.

I guess I'm not the only one with family problems. If you need to talk, you can talk to me anytime you want to. Just remember that.

I loved reading your top 5 song list. It was really interesting and it's a great idea, do you mind if I borrow it? I'll credit you of course. The songs sounds awesome too, I'll download soon. I like a lot of songs that aren't very popular and well known too. I adore songs in foreign, often asian languages, too. :D

It's really amazing what songs can do for you and that they can make you recognise yourself so much. I dodn't know what I would do without my favourite songs.

Yup, very excited, but also a tad worried!

Thanks for saying that. *hugs* I don't really want to talk about it at the moment, but I might take you up on that offer later.

The Top Five Songs list actually isn't an idea of my own. I got the idea from other LJs, where it's also used.

Jan! *hugs* Hey! It's very strange to write an English message to you. ;) And what are you talking about? You know your English is great, too - you were the top of our class, now, weren't you? You and Laurie - I remember it very clearly, our first year. You two always got 10s ( ... )

I know it's strange to write to you in English, but in a fun and refreshing way :D!

Unfortunately my e-mail host is being weird and it's been down for several weeks already, so I can't read old mails or receive new ones :(
If you want to you could forward it to my msn address. I'll talk to the others to let them know I couldn't reply.

I'll definitely be there on Friday, though I'm not good at saying goodbye so I might stick to a "have fun and I'll be reading your log" or something ;)
Want me to bring anything to do/eat/drink? :D

The Vienna Teng songs are very powerful, whenever I listen to some of them I get into a serious and I guess even sort of sad mood. They really make your mind drift off too, might not be the best idea to listen to it while doing my homework *takes mental note*

Good luck on your thesis! *hugs*
Jan

Well, I'm actually using my brother's laptop at the moment, and I think I'm still logged in on MSN on my own computer (?) so I can't forward it right now... but I'll just post all you need to know here: at my place, 20.30, no need to bring anything at all. :) It'll just be another get-together. Haven't heard from Martijn yet, but Laurie and Ton are coming for sure.

I'm no good at saying goodbye, either, but then again - who is? I'd like to see you all before I leave, though! I won't be seeing any of you for three months! (o_0) That is, unless you guys will come visit me in Cork. Laurie and Ton might. :)

I'm glad you like her music - I like it a lot, even though her voice is not always very steady. Her lyrics are just very good, and like I said, some songs express my emotions to a tee.

See you Friday, then!

Hey, I know you'll do great. That's what I keep telling my other friend who's going to England next week. I'm still really jealous of you.

It's okay, I'll be here when and if you're ready. :hugs:

I love Vienna Tengs songs! She's so one of my new favourites. Thanks so much for uploading her songs. I listened to them a lot yesterday. Green Island Serenade is so beautiful. I really like the other songs too.
I download a lot of anime music videos and I even found a great video to one of my favourite anime movies with one of her songs.

Oh, so it's totally ok to do a top 5 then? I'm free from my classes ( see I'm not writing school anymore, lol) tomorrow so I might do it then.

Well, no need to be jealous if you can manage to come visit us, right? ;)

I love Green Island Serenade, too. It's a bit similar to Enya's music, but very different all the same. Other favourites: Soon Love Soon, Gravity, 1BR/1BA, Nothing Without You, Lullabye for a Stormy Night, My Medea, and many more! Which of her songs was used for the music video?

*adds Stefanie to friends* Hey sweetie, how are you? A shame I haven't seen you when you were on campus last week :-(. Anyway. Keep us posted, good luck packing your things and enjoy! Kusje!

Hey Britt! I'm good, thanks! I know - I was looking around for you and Arlette, but I didn't get around seeing you. Did you go to the Wild Wild West party in the bar? I did see Ruxi and Arjen (which was a surprise, because I thought he was on exchange!) though, and Suzan, of course. :)

True. I hope I can manage to come and visit you. There's so many things I have to spend my money on. Books for school, paint for my room, books, Lost DVD box... But I'll see what I can do about it.

Mhm...it's called Cling to me. It was really good too. Yeah, she reminds me a bit of Enya sometimes. I like Enya too so it's not a problem with me, lol.

Oh, painting your room sounds like fun!

Cling To Me? I don't know that song... nice title, though. :) I like some of Enya's music - not all of it, though. She has a beautiful voice.
